A Quick Question: F-WWCA

Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:08 am

Just a quick question,

What was the incident, that the photographer is on about, in the comment for this photo.

Also, why is the leading edge of the tail, taped up.

Thanks in advance

Tom.

All I can find is the crash of an Iran Air Tours Tupolev 154. It killed all 117 people onboard.

Nothing relating to the A340-600, the A340 or Air France.

Sorry for not finding anything else.

Funny to read someone saying "This is an airplane with too many composites."

Seems like they didn't come to a conclusion....
Either a failed RTO or fuse plugs not melting and the tires blowing.

I actually think it was the test where the fuse plugs didn't melt and the tires exploded causing the extensive damage..... That's the only failed test on the A340-600 MSN 360 I can think of.
