No Service Between BOS And Iberian Peninsula

Fri Jan 20, 2006 5:22 am

Does anyone know whether Iberia or Tap may start/resume service from BOS....BOS currently has no nonstop's to the Iberian Peninsula. Why did they halt ops in BOS in the first place? CO is starting EWR BCN soon and MAD flight are always heavy....seems like people like this area, not Bostonians? Any thoughts on new service?

It's been rumored on this forum that AA is considering BOS-MAD with a 757. Most likely IB would code-share on this flight.

But there is. Sata International (S4) connects BOS and LIS, twice a week with a stop in PDL. From June-October they serve both LIS and OPO non-stop from BOS in addition to service via PDL.

I seriously believe that service from TAP will come back to BOS or YYZ sooner rather than later however, I don't think it will be daily and it will be one of the other not both cities. They can easily use AC to fee passengers from one city to the other, to connect to the flight to LIS. There just isn't enough high yield demand for a daily BOS-LIS or YYZ-LIS flight. I think there would be even less demand for a BOS-MAD flight in the off season and even during the Summer months it would be mostly low yield tourists.

BOS-MAD on a 757 sounds feasible with decent yields.
What now?
