United Pacific Question

Fri Jan 20, 2006 5:28 am

Does anyone know when UA stopped its SFO-TPE and ICN service? Was it when they began SFO-NGO and NGO-TPE?

I am thinking the stopped the TPE route in 2003. It is now a continuation of the SFO-NGO-TPE route. ICN is coming back in April.

UA has done a host of changes to the TPE station in the past few years.
Pre-2001, it was daily SFO-TPE on 744.
For some time after 9-11, it was downgauged to 772.
Then SARS hit in 2003 and there were no flights to TPE for a couple of months then only to come back as the SFO-NRT-TPE on a 772.
When traffic rebounded, SFO-NRT-TPE was upgauged to 744.
When SFO-NGO-TPE started with 772, the LAX-NRT-TPE route was flown with 772. Now the NRT-TPE segment is an extension from either JFK or ORD still flown with 772.

Will it be non-stop or with a stop someplace else.
Yes...I am not a KIX fan. Let's Japanese Aviation!
