Cathay A 340-600 Seats

Fri Jan 20, 2006 10:00 am

I read on the internet that the seats on Cathay 340-600 ecconomy section are extremely cramped and uncomfortable. The seat cushion is less padded than the 747 and tends to tilt forward a little, giving the uncomfortable feeling that one is slipping off the seat. This is hearsay. For those who have flown on the Cathay 340-600 please give me your opinion.

Not necessarily hearsay. I fly HKG-JFK-HKG 3X a year, and the seat bottoms do angle a bit forward(down). There is a button that "supposedly" corrects it, but doesn't do its job nearly well enough. As far as the seats not being comfortable, I disagree. I was more comfortable on this seat for 15/16 hours than I was on a CX 744 seat for 12.

You feel the seats tilt forward is probably just because the whole a/c tilts forward when on ground. It is particularly obvious when you are in the back of the a/c, i.e. EY.
