Sun Jan 22, 2006 7:44 am

Hey! My flight (to my horror) has been changed to an A330 from a DC-10!!! AMS-BOS. What are the chances NW changing it back to the DC-10 nearer the time? I am going on 7th April. Thanks alot!!

Why to your horror? I would have thought most people would have prefered the newer equipment. Just a thought.

Happened to me too. I booked my self on NW 41 only to fly the Dc10, and guess what? Yes, they changed it to a A330 a month or so before depature.

Guess its nothing you can do about it though.

Equipment changes are one of those things that I've learned to deal with after flying a lot. I've had happy times when I've gone from a 757 to a 767 and frustrated times when my 767 was turned into an MD-80 and my upgrade went poof. Last year I flew 88 segments and I had five equipment changes, so for me the chances seem to be about 6%.

Northwest did that once to me. I was suppose to be on a 744 from DTW to MSP, but instead got a 727. I was so upset I said I would never non rev on them again!

I'd personally take a [not-so-]slowly-vanishing type over a bird that's going to be around for several more decades almost any day.

I haven't read NW's DGR [Domestic General Rules] in a while, but most alrines specifically state in their Contract of Carriage or DGR that seat assignments and equipment types are not gaurnteed and are subject to change at any time for any reason. Unless you get a real sap of a res agent/CSR there's little chance of getting anything more than a few FF miles... if that.

The thing is, I'v been on an MD-11 and an L1011, so a DC-10 would be perfect but the Jetblue E190 BOS-JFK will have to make up for it lol.
