Pilot killed in Clare County plane crash

HARRISON, Mich. (AP) — A pilot was killed when his single-engine airplane crashed in a wooded area near the Clare County Airport, the sheriff's department said Monday.
Michael Watson, 53, of Davison, was killed in the crash, which was reported at 5:45 p.m. Sunday. There were no passengers.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known, officials said.
Harrison is located about 170 miles northwest of Detroit and 100 miles north of Lansing.
