NZ A320 Seating Question.

Sun Jan 29, 2006 8:11 pm

Can anyone tell me if there are any seats better than others in economy on Air New Zealand A320's with regard to leg room as I am traveling with a tall person prone to circulation problems?

Thanks in advance

which destination ? if BNE I believe that they are now selling the J class cabin at premium economy fares rather than business class fares which makes it a lot more affordable to get more legroom

Best Economy seats are 3A-3F. All A320 Trans-tasman services are changing from Business Class to Premium Economy

The first row on our A320 is row 4. There is no row onboard that has any extra legroom, if I were you I'd just request an aisle seat.

When I was on -OKA in October on MEL-AKL, I was seated in the first row of Economy and it had more leg room then the other rows, thats why I try and get the first row on all my flights

Jase, OKA is a 777, whereas the threadstarter was asking for info on the A320.

I mean OJA. The B777s were not operating in October anyway

Some observations about our 320s.
Seat pitch in general is comfortable at 32"
Exit row seats 11/12 have no additional space, and row 11 doesn't recline so is not very desirable.
the Bulkhead row 4 doesn't have additional space either, and because of the wall you can't actually stretch your feet under the seat in front.
Go for a seat further down the aircraft rather than up the front, at least you'll have a chance of having a spare seat next to you.

Is for all trans tasman A320 services? We are looking at booking J class flights SYD/AKL in Aug 06, and the current timetable states mostly A320 on flights during August.

The prices quoted on line with ANZ still appear to be business class price point.
Air New Zealand, nothing else needed to be said...

The only seats that dont recline are the window seats in rows 10 and 11 so 10 a and f and 11 a and f dont recline all other seats in exit rows recline..

Could NZ put PTV's on a small number of A320's say 4 or 5 for AKL-SYD and AKL-MEL?

They could, but they won't. Not cost effective for such a small number.
