Will this first BA Connect aircraft be based out of MAN?

What's the major differences between BA Connect and British Airways CitiExpress?

Is British Airways CitiExpress being dropped completely?

Connect is LoCo and has buy on board. BACX was a proper airline!  Smile

No more free food and drink and supposedly cheaper fares including one way tickets. Business (Club Europe) is gone too.

The era of BACON is upon us.

Why does everyone always believe full-frills flights have FREE food? They don't. You pay for it and everything else. It'd cost the airlines millions every year to provide it. Nothing's free. In a supermarket, you pay for the carrier bags in the price you pay for your goods; indeed, Tesco spends several million annually just in proving the carrier bags.

Well because it's feasible that at times we will still be paying the same price as before but with out the 'seemingly' free food and drink. Trust me for some people, with £8 fares, it was free.

No. BA/subsidiary would be loss-leading with a price like that. Other people, in paying higher fares, would pay for your contribution to the cost of the refreshments.

Everything's included in the price of your ticket - or someone else's.

You get nothing for free.

Yes.

But you, or someone else, would still pay for it. And if you're talking about sexual things, you still pay for that: you buy your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/whoever food at a restaurant or a drink in a pub or whatever, which is effectively indirectly paying for it, because most relationships revolve around sex.

Personally I think BA Connect diminishes the BA brand, and that BACX was the first victim of Wicked Willie's evil plan to Ryanairise BA!! Unfortunately it doesn't always have to be the lowest common denominator, but it seems that right now that is were airlines are ending up.

But if I don't pay for it then it's free. That's how it works!  Wink

BA Connect flights are now showing on the BA booking engine, however it seems there is no way (yet) to book the cheap fares, you are automatically given the Connect Plus fare or whatever they call it, with lounge access and miles.
