Need Help: What Do Kuwait Airways A340 Names Mean?

Wed Feb 01, 2006 5:52 am

I'm working on a 1/144 scale model of an A340 of Kuwait Airways. The decal kit allows four versions to be made:

9K-ANA
WARBA

9K-ANB
AL-SABAHIYA

9K-ANC
AL-MUBARAKIYA

9K-AND
AL-RIGGAH

Since I don't speak Arabic, I don't know what those names mean. Who can tell me that? I already searched for a while, but I only found out that "Warba" is the name of a Kuwaiti Island.

Any help would be appreciated.

They are place names. But if you want their meaning...

al-Sabahiya (named after al-Sabah) -> the morning's
al-Mubarakiya (named after Mubarak) -> the bless-ed
al-Riggah -> the tenderness

Thank you HiJazzey. I think I'll give it the reg 9K-AND then. Because it is a tender airplane.
