CB Airs "Plaespotting".

Wed Feb 01, 2006 4:27 pm

On the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corportation) tonight is a Best of Britain late night movie entitiled "Planespotting."

This made in 2005 movie is the story of fourteen plane spotters who were arrested and imprisoned in Greece after being accused of 'acting suspiciously' at an air base.
stars: Lesley Sharp, Mark Benton, Ross Boatman, Nick Holder.

I couldn't believe that some people [the Greeks] could misunderstand the sport of planespotting. But then again it was set in 2001.

oops tittle should read "CBC airs Planespotting"

Plaespotting

That's great but we're all "Planespotters."  Wink
And all at once the crowd begins to sing: Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same

Actually taking pictures at a Greek air base has always been high risk.

I would have thought that taking pictures of ANY military air base would be high risk. And stupid IMHO.

Hi ANother

IMHO
What's really stupid is not letting people take pictures of any place. With today's technology they can take a thousand pictures with cameras that are a few mm in length. You could video tape or photograph the entire perimeter of any major military installation and they wouldn't notice. Let's not even go into Spy planes, satellites etc. A guy with his huge camera taking a few pictures of airplanes can only be a threat in the minds of those whose paranoia is only inversely proportionate to their IQ.  banghead
These are my principles but if you don't like them I have others
