A380 A Possibility At EAA AirVenture?

Sat Feb 04, 2006 8:31 am

Hi all,
I was just curious as to wether or not the A380 could appear at an upcoming AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI? With ongoing certification and testing, it doesn't seem likely, but it would be nice!:D Is the A380 even certified to fly in the US yet? Any info appreciated and hey, maybe by July we'll be seeing it in Oshkosh Yeah sure

Not bloody likely. The ramp can support and has room for a 747 or An-124, but I think an A380 would be pushing it.

Airbus has displayed at Oshkosh several times before, the most recent being 2003 with the Beluga, which carried a TBM 700 inside.

Is the A380's pavement loading that much higher than that of the 747?

As for space, I somehow doubt the EAA would say to Airbus "Sorry...not enough room".  Wink
