Li-2 (Russian-build DC3) Sightseeing Flight 13 May

Mon Feb 06, 2006 9:11 pm

Hey vintage plane lovers. The legendary Air Events, who brought us the Iranair 747SP and the Syrianair 727, have chartered a Lisunov Li-2 for an enthusiasts charter in Budapest on Saturday 13 May. It's going to be completely awesome, and I'm posting it here cos places on this small aircraft are very limited and I want to see the seats go to my friends here on a.net.

Send an email to airevents@gmx.net if you want more info.

I believe this is the actual aircraft we'll be flying on:

I guess it would have to be - I think it's the only one left after the Russian accident in 2004 trashed the other Li-2.

Sure that's what he meant.
I'd be surprised if there were six Li-2s in Monino though - surely there was only one in the museum display area last year. Also, Monino is hardly in Moscow.
I did see a Li-2 at Victory Park in Moscow, and another in Cracow, Poland.

Just a little note for all those who are interested, we have enough bookings to definitely go ahead with the flight.
