I am booking a short trip SIN-BKK the weekend of 4th/5th March. I have checked prices on the following carriers:
1. SQ, 6 choices of flight there and back SGD 387
2. JetStarAsia, 3 choices of flight each way, best price (but not the best timings) SGD 162, the timings I need would cost SGD 243
3. TigerAirways, 1 choice of flight each way, SGD 403.21
4. AirAsia, 4 choices of timings each way, cheapeast SGD 171 but rubbish timing, the timing I need would cost SGD 213 SGD
My point is the LCC are not that much cheaper than SQ when SQ offers better service, much more choice, full meal, alcahol, etc, especially Tiger Air.
Are SQ doing a really good job of pricing their ticket or are the LCC not doing enough to get their fares low enough.
Personally I will choose the SQ ticket for the reason that the price is not that much more considering how much more you get for the money (in terms of choice, service & cost).
As a comparison I've flown in europe between BCN and LHR and the easyjet fares were much lower than the BA fares for the same route.
Any thoughts anyone else?
