Sounds like RFD could become the third Chicago-area airport...

Yes, I know, RFD-ORD is 63 miles, but considering the size of Chicago (and the task of getting in and out of ORD!), perhaps UA and NW can help get some ORD traffic out that way.

Any chance of seeing American Eagle RFD-DFW?

I recall American Eagle used to run ATRs to RFD a couple of times a day. I took an ATR-42 and ATR-72 into RFD for a conference. I did not realise that they were so close.

Unlike NW, UA benefits from the fact that many Mileage Plus members live in the Rockford area. If these travelers are going to the western US (via Denver) Rockford is a good alternative to ORD.

Over 15 flights are already sold out. Supposedly, the RFD-DEn flights are already doing much better than the CRW (if thats charleston, WV, sorry I am drawing a blank to ORD. CRW-ORD averaged a load factor of 48 percent, how can they continue to do that flight?

How did we get involved in this and how would you know our load factors?

There is nothing wrong with that, I am not trying to put down CRW. I was just wondering myself. RFD does lots of work b ehind the scenes. And compares prices and load factors of many routes, to see what they are up against. I mean, the flight isnt that long from CRW-ORD, so maybe it doesn't need to be 70 percent full to make money. It was just a question, comparing it with RFD-DEN service.

Our airports been growing but UA hasnt. Everyones passenger numbers have gone up but theirs ( As far as i know), but i am surpprised that load factors would be that low considering ORD is a high O&D market for us.
