JetBlue: EWR-BQN?

Wed Feb 08, 2006 12:48 pm

Hi, all. I noticed this yesterday and I just checked and it's still happening.

Anyway, on JetBlue's booking engine, if you select BQN as the departure, EWR pops up as one of the destinations and vice versa.

So, is B6 planning to start EWR-BQN or is it just an error is the engine?

I just checked and your right, it looks like Aguadilla is B6's next destination from EWR.

Man are they dropping hints lately. Putting up IAD-LAS on the routemap, and leaving BQN on the EWR list. Either somebody is purposely slipping, or things are a mess at wherever this stuff is done  . That said, why is IAD-LAS only on there one way?

I noticed this as well but didn't say anything. I'm hoping that it will be the next announced "connecting the dots" route.

Interesting... After FLYI's demise, LAS-IAD was one route where B6 did the groundwork and would have seen the loads. Lets see with BQN...

As to EWR-BQN... I see the MCO route coming soon. I guess those former US air force runway is going to see good use.  Smile Although, seeing a cesna on those old hotpads might be amusing.

I'm only seeing 4 flights (peak) a day at the airport!
CO: 1
B6: 1 soon to be 2 (and MCO makes 3, IAD 4?)
"MN aviation" 2 flights/day (only Mon, Thur, Fri, Sun)
http://www.flytoaguadilla.com/aereas.asp
And yet that runway is capable of handling about anything... Looking from google earth it has a nice taxiway setup and everything. What's the general aviation traffic like?

FLL-BQN should be announced soon, pending more gates at FLL.

EWR-BQN is via MCO.

IAD-LAS is via LGB.

It's just a way to increase revenue on the flights and perhaps test the water indirectly. I have heard of no plans to launch non-stop flights.

Actually, if you click on "nonstop" it still shows IAD-LAS.

That's simply an error on the route-map. IAD-LAS isn't flown non-stop. I wish it was, though!

You think the route map people would just draw in a specific line between two cities, and just say, "Oops!"? I don't. And no kidding they don't fly it non-stop- not yet at least.

Um...yes. This is simply an error on the route map designer's part. It's no more than that. JetBlue does not fly IAD-LAS. They have not announced anything yet. They wouldn't put that line there just because they are "planning" on it. Do you really think B6 would reveal its intentions before a press release?

Most people (read: not a.netters) would never notice such an occurrence, and those who do wouldn't think anything of it. It has nothing to do with intentionally revealing their future route plans- it was simply an error on the drawer of the map. Whether or not it will be announced in the near future remains to be seen, but the A320s have to go somewhere.

I completely agree. And I personally think IAD-LAS would be a great route for them to fly.

It happened with FLL-OAK. Put on the route map about a week before the PR. It happens.

Ah, thanks for catching that MAH4546. But IAD-LAS has commonly been misplaced on the route map before and...nothing. But one can only hope, right?! BTW, FLL-OAK has been performing really great from what I've heard.

Exactly what I was gonna say, B6 put on OAK-FLL like a day before they announced it and then the following day it came out in the PR. So you never know about that so don't jump to conclusions that they won't do it. LAS-IAD would be great though.

When you look at EWR-BQN, no matter what date you put in, they show nothing, I guess they still need to plug it in, also they still have IAD-SMF on the drop down menu but they discontinued that route last month.

Finally on the city info with the pictures, they don't add city info like what to do east and stay, only for older cities and ones that are part of jetBlue Getaways but most say nothing (Like they still don't have SJC info up there and they launched that June 10th 2004. I have even emailed them about it and they just said they forwarded it to the website designers or something like that and no response after that and seems they don't want the feature on the website they made to work). They also have no picture for EWR AUS RIC BDA.

They just launched it. Give it time. FLL-PSE is tentatively set for this summer.

Sorry but we do not have any flights like that. There is flight 308 which goes IAD-OAK via LGB but no IAD-LAS via LGB.
LGB....where you can watch the grass grow because the traffic is so slow.

If you start with LAS on the nonstops-only option IAD doesn't get linked to, only with IAD-LAS... so prob just an error.

I meant via LGB as in a connection. You can fly IAD-LAS but only if you connect at LGB. Sorry for using the wrong word  Smile

Depart Arrive Flight # Freq. Stop/Via
7:20a 1:15p 311 / 282 D LGB
2:25p 7:05p 308 / 286 D LGB
From: LAS To: IAD
Depart Arrive Flight # Freq. Stop/Via

They are both via LGB.

Anyway I think and IAD-LAS route would also be good because DH operated it and that is the first western city they went into and they never really pulled out of it, just pulled out as a company from everywhere. That would be nice along with IAD-JFK (!).

But EWR-SJU needs to get a little better for B6 first. I heard they have pretty good loads but the SJU-EWR doesn't do as well as the EWR-SJU route oddly enough. I think as time goes on they will up the EWR-SJU and when they do that they can go into EWR-BQN later on if they see more demand, like PAX booking it through MCO. But EWR-PSE will never happen on B6 since CO can't do it really. JFK-PSE does well though!
