Plattsburgh INTL. Montreal's US Airport!

Thu Feb 09, 2006 11:19 am

Feb 8,2006 ....the Chamber of Commerce for Plattsburgh has set up a new web site promoting the use of the former U.S. Air Force base for new uses. ( www.montrealairport-us.com ) The website touts the size of the 12,000' runway and over 12 million square feet of concrete apron to park and maneuver airplanes as well as its proximity an hour south of Montreal and close to Lake Placid NY. The airport currently has a major new passenger terminal being constructed and is conveniently located just off Interstate 87 highway. In addition to Pratt & Whitney using the airfield for air-testing of new engines, there is also a new school opening later in 2006 called Plattsburgh Aeronautical Institute. This will be a full FAA approved power-plant and airframe school. Anyone wishing to investigate further is encouraged to contact the addresses shown on the web site or the phone numbers listed.

I think this is pretty interesting

Thanks

The Quebecois are really going to love *this* advertising campaign... Did Plattsburgh even think that through?  Angry

Actually, there already is a US alternate airport for YUL. It is BTV.

An Airframe and Powerplant school. That is just brilliant. Someone should tell them A&P's have been getting layed off all over the country. I think the cold has gone to their heads up there.
