Go Air is expected to order 15-20 aircrafts at Singapore show next week. Link:
The Wadia Group-promoted Go Air may soon sign a deal for the purchase of 15-20 Airbus 320 or Boeing 737 aircraft with the respective aircraft manufacturers, although market sources say the airline is inclined to go with the European aircraft maker.
However, Go Air managing director Jeh Wadia told ET that a final decision on the numbers and the aircraft make will be made this week. However, he said the airline is targeting a fleet of 28/32 planes by ’08 which will be a mix of lease and buy (plain vanilla lease, sale and lease back, etc). An announcement may, therefore, follow at the Singapore Airshow next week, sources said. According to Mr Wadia, the airline is not only evaluating the prospects of a buy from either of the plane manufacturers, but will also take a firm call on a mid or long-term purchase plan.
