Amsterdam Lounge Number 42 - Terminal 3

Wed Feb 15, 2006 7:18 am

Hello all !

I will be traveling on KL in two Weeks and will have a 6 hours wait at AMS. As I usually go trough ZRH, I tend to pay the access fee to bellevue lounge, which offer wireless internet, drinks and a wonderful view on Zurich runways.

I've seen the same thing in DOH, where you can pay a small fee to access a lounge (not the QR one).

Is there such a thing in AMS ? I've made a few searches over the net a found something called EasyJetLounge (!!!), which propose the Amsterdam Lounge Number 42, in terminal 3 for 25 euros. How is that lounge ? Does it offer internet ? Can you pay for access to the lounge at the airport, or do I have to go trough EasyJet ?

Is there any quality lounge available to Y-class pax ?

Thanks for your help !

Don't know if this might help:

There also seems to be two Menzies Aviation Lounges:

Haven't been in these lounges myself - just spotted this off the internet.

I believe you can buy an entrance ticket for KLM's Crown Lounges at Schiphol. The only person I know who did this, bought it with Flying Blue miles. I don't know if you can pay it with real money.

Amsterdam is a very nice airport with lots of restaurants, cafe, internet cafee's, lazy seats and views on the aircraft.

I probably would spent my money on some good drink there..

Yeah I agree with Keesje,

Amsterdam is a nice airport to travel from (and for me) and to work at. A lot of places to have a drink, there are good relax chairs to sit in and watch the planes.
I wouldn't spend any money on a lounge at AMS.

There are WIFI hotspots placed near cafe's, and there's a communication center in lounge 2.

AMS is one airport where I think you could manage without a lounge, if you don't have membership. There are number of nice places to sit and spend time. There's even an area between about lounge 42 and 52 that has recliners and stuff. Wireless is, I believe, available all through the airport.

Another option, if you are brave, is to go into Amsterdam itself. Assuming you get in on time, and there's no large line at immigration, you could easily be on a train headed to Amsterdam's Centraal Station within 40-50 minutes of departure, and arrive 90 minutes after getting off the plane. (maybe even less!). You wouldn't have a lot of time in Amsterdam, perhaps 60-75 minutes, but it's always an option  Smile

Actually, I've planned that for the return flight, asked for a 8 hours stop.

Thanks !
