What Is Voliamo In Italy?

Wed Feb 15, 2006 10:09 pm

Just found a new airlines (looks LCC) in Italy.

http://www.voliamo.biz

They say that they want to start from Brescia to Rome (FCO) by 27th March. Offering full service and 30Kg free baggage.
The photo on the website looks like a 737-200.

Does anybody here know more about them ?

Never heard about it...

Anyway I would not describe it as a LCC. As you have said they have full service, 30 kg luggage, and last but not least they have connection flights from FCO to "all over the world" (=voli in connessione da FCO per tutto il mondo).

They will simply enter Amadeus & Galileo and offer connection possibility. However a 737 on the Brescia-Roma route seems to me a bit too much! And if they offer only this route how many times will they flight it per day? 10?

Time will tell us!

Hi,
I'm from Brescia, so I'm quite interested in this question.
It's because Ryanair is going to leave the Brescia (Verona) - Rome Ciampino route from the 26th of March moving it to Milan Orio - Rome Ciampino.
So Brescia airport, which is a small but growing airport, supported by a rich city (Brescia, 2nd biggest of Lombardia after Milan) with a lot of industry, wants his own flight to Rome, so people from Brescia don't have to pass for Milan Orio airport (45Km).

What I know about this company, is that it was supposed to be Solinair (a slovenian airline) to fly this route with a single B737-300 (I don't think they'll do with a 737-200 even because of noise restriction laws in Italy).

At the beginning, if the flight will be like Ryanair is flying it now, it will be twice a day, and maybe the airline could add some more national and international destinations.

By the way I'm waiting too to see what will go on with this new airline
ciao

Not to split hairs here but doesn't AirOne still operate the -200 series on some domestic routes in Italy? I think they do or at least did until last year.

Voliamo is backed by the same people who were running Ciao Fly some years back (and also tried to launch various other carriers in Germany and Italy, Tell Air, FlyEureca, Taino Airlines etc.) so it will be interesting to see whether this venture will take off.

Wow ! The best references ! At least TAINO was flying for some years with this nice DC10-10 from Scibe Airlift.......
In this case it is really interesting to see if it happens.
BTW: Does "GeeBee" belong to the list above as well ?

I'm from Brescia, too and I' often go to VBS to see FR 738s and Ocean Airlines 442Fs.

Unfortunately Voliamo (...we fly...) will use 732.
There are rumors about the airframe which seems to be F-GIXA, delivered to its first owner on 17/05/1974 (it's 3 days younger than I!!!!!)

Yup, same as Gee Bee. The company is again registered at the same address in Lamone near Lugano as all others before and some of the same guys are listed in the Swiss company register as before:

Good, so their capital is 20.000 Euros ?
Even IF they take off, it won't last long I am afraid......

It is 20'000 swiss francs, about 13'000 Euros. However, it is possible to start operations with a low capital (so that if you are grounded you do not lose a lot of private money!) Italy is well known for starting quite a lot of airlines leaving the market after some months. We will se how it will end with this one!
