AWA/US CSR Seniority Integration

Thu Feb 16, 2006 12:27 am

Looks like the AWA CSR employees are going to end up on the short end of the stick for seniority when the average date of hire for US CSR is much earlier than even the most senior AWA CSR.

Yes and no. In the eastern cities with the big hubs this is true. However, in many of the western cities, mainly the two hubs plus several stations that weren't US, this won't affect the former HP employees much if at all, considering the staffs for HP was considerably larger than US. However, in stations like PHL and BOS, there were much more US people than HP, so this won't affect them much if at all. And in stations like MCO and ORD, which I believe were ground handled by CO, there was very little HP presence to begin with.

This won't screw that many people if at all, and I think this is appropriate for that group. Pilots and Flight Attendants are going to be much trickier.

DOH is all that the USAirways people know... they've been thru more mergers than any other airline in business today.

And yes, there are a lot of people @ US with tons of seniority. A very close friend has 23 years of seniority and was just called back a few mos ago.

It's not that big of a deal....unless you are in a station where there are both work groups. Fortunately in the west...there aren't that many of them.
