Any More L1011 Flights?

Thu Feb 16, 2006 5:06 pm

Does anyone know if there are any more scheduled L1011 flights? I see two different ATA L10's landing every now and then, but I'm told they are only used for Military Charters.

Thai Sky Airlines still flies several scheduled routes within South East Asia from BKK.

If you're in a US Military uniform, and have been asked to spend some time on "the beach", you'll might get a ride on an ATA L-1011.

Flywho (BHX) have announced that they will be operating flights with L1011-500 on from BHX to Orlando & St Petersburg/Clearwater.

Not certain where the aircraft is coming from or who the actual operator will be.

Hewa Bora still flies the L-1011. They fly BRU-FIH three times a week.

The L-1011 is becoming very rare in passenger hauling.

Thai Sky doesn't have much info on its website. Any idea of the routes and the prices? Cheers.

Oops sorry, I mistyped my info.
Hewa Bora operates only ONE weekly scheduled flight from BRU to FIH, it arrives in BRU on Saturday evening and leaves back to FIH on Sunday morning.

They will use it for inner Africa routes.

Looks like ATA's L1011-500 163AT is back from its D-check at GAMCO. Lookin' good!

It follows on the heels of 162AT, which went through the same experience a couple of months before it.

Sadly, last word was that 194AT will be gone after tomorrow. Hadn't heard any updates, so I assume that that's still the plan. Sad to see her go. Hope someone gets some photos of her last days and trip to the Desert.

Best,

Bill

Anyone know what happened to Air Transat's (TS) tristars? Last I heard, there were some sitting around the tarmac at Mirabel, but that was a couple of years ago.

I hadn't heard of this airline before but this past Sunday I flew NBO-BRU on SN and pulled into the gate next to this bird. I fondly remember flying the L-1011 some time back on Royal Jordainian.

Gearup380,

Yes, Euroatlantic Airways operates a sole L15 from LIS to many caribbean destinations. Luzair from Portugal operates too an L15 to african, asian and caribbean destinations.

Remember too:

- Air Rum and Air Universal, who leases its aircrafts as per example Libyan Arab Airlines.

And anyone knows something about a new L15, registered as OD-ZEE, operated by Cameroon Airlines???????

RAFVC10- OD-ZEE belongs to a new Lebanese airline, who will be operating an all L1011 fleet from Beirut. You can check them out here www.globejetairlines.com . From what I hear, they will be offering passenger services in the not too distant future.. will be interesting.

This is my first post on this site (although I have been an avid reader for the last 4 years!)

RAF flies from Brize Norton to Ascension with the Tristar, you need to apply for visa
for Ascension, only 20 seats per flight for civilians.

Is it possible to book tickets online with them? Or buy at the counter in ICN?
I might be arriving at ICN if my planned ATL-NRT-SIN nonrev trip doesn't work out as planned. Might as well give a Tristar a go after the NW DC-10!  bouncy

I remember reading that they actually need to be booked at travel agencies as they are classed as charters? I could be completely wrong...
