Flight Crew Vs Cabin Crew Pay

Sat Feb 18, 2006 4:37 am

I was wondering what the differential is between what pilots make and what cabin crew in terms of salaries, benefits etc. In the US and abroad?
Obviously pilots earn more, but the question is how much more? And whether that is an appropriate differential given the training/difficulty/hours of the respective jobs.

And I am neither a pilot nor a flight attendant, btw.

At my airline, a first year FO makes about 5 dollars more an hour than I do. After all the schooling they went through, coupled with the fact a lot of them have wives, kids, mortgages, etc - its pretty dismal pay. Captains make an exceptionally higher amount. At my airline, though, I certainly don't think they're overpaid.

I wouldn't call myself underpaid. But I would call myself underappreciated. But thats the nature of the beast. I'm not one of those flight attendants who likes to think what I do on the airplane is worth 65k a yearor 60 dollars an hour. It isn't. But I also think its worth a little more than 15k a year  Wink

Prepare doors for departure and cross-check.

Out here.
Pilots get paid around Rs 2,50,000 to 5,00,000 p.m.
The Cabin crew would earn around Rs 20,000 to 40,000 p.m.

Cargo Operators will pay higher for Flying crew rather than Pax Airlines.

I may not win often, but I damn well never lose!!! ;)
