Travel Club/Miles&More - How Do I Get My Miles?

Sun Feb 19, 2006 4:37 am

I have a little problem with Miles&More.

A few months ago (I think it was October or November) I got a letter from the Swiss Travel Club, they informed me that they will discontinue their frequent flyer program and that there is the possibility to transfer all my Travel Club miles to a Lufthansa Miles&More account. I wrote my M&M number in the field "transfer my miles to the Miles&More account with the following number" and sent the letter back.

Today I checked my Miles&More account after a long time and saw that these miles don't appear on my online statement. At first I called the Swiss telephone hotline but there I was told that I should ask the Mils&More service center. Eventually I called the M&M service center where I encountered a pretty clueless person.

I explained her the situation but she said that she had absolutely no clue what I am talking about, she never heard of the possibility to transfer the Travel Club miles to my M&M account. I told her that I was not talking about 1.000 miles or so but about 12.000 miles and that it would be very important for me to get these miles. Then she asked me if I still have the letter, I said: "No, I filled it out and sent it back, why should I keep it?". She then told me that I have no evidence and that I won't get these miles.

So has anyone any idea how I can get these 12.000 miles?

Additionally: On the 21st of January I flew DUS-ZRH-DUS, the miles for the DUS-ZRH flight are on my account but not the miles for the return flight despite my M&M number is printed on both boarding passes. Pathetic!

I believe they will be passed on later, my Travel Club membership isn't transfered to a M&M yet either, I believe they will do it in April.

I hope you are right, it would be a real pain for me to lose those 12.000 miles. I will wait till April now, hopefully they will appear on my statement then. The problem is that I don't know my Travel Club number anymore, so I can't access it, print out the milage statement and send it to LH.

Anyway, thanks for your reply, Jurgen. Amazing that you get a more competent answer from an A.net user than at the Miles&More customer service center.

If you returned the letter to Swiss Travel Club they will transfer your mileage into Miles and More on the 31 Mar 06. Your miles will be again valid for another three years from this date. All information should be available on under Swiss Travel Club. I have done it online and got a confirmation e-mail that this will be done.
