A380 Deliveries: What Airlines In Which Order?

Sun Feb 19, 2006 11:44 am

This is probably an easy question to answer: but just checking

I know Singapore is first - but can anyone list which airlines will receive the A380 in which order?

Thanks!

AF Delayed the delivery by a year.
F-HPJA, the first AF A380, is now expected for spring 2008.

I though they delayed by half a year because Airbus delayed the delivery by half a year.

How many A380 Qantas will receive in 2007?
I am flying to Sydney in november 2007 with QF32 and I hope this flight will be on an A380. Any chances?

Initially, they were to be delivered in April 2007.
Then it was delayed to November 2007.
But AF was not very "happy" to start flying the A380 during the winter season and Airbus began to have problems with the first customers (SQ, QF, EK) because of the delay so AF & Airbus found an agreement that would satisfy them both :
AF delayed the delivery to April 2008 so it will enable Airbus to reduce the initial delay for the first customers.
This agreement includes also financial compensations from Airbus to AF (and probably more "secret" deals concerning eventual future orders ... but that's just my opinion).

Unlikely, but not impossible! QF are expected to start A380 ops around April 07, but the first routes will be MEL-LAX, Then SYD-LAX. That will take 4 aircraft, which I think is the max number that QF can recive in 07. So you might get a route proving, special introductory or some such flight, but I doubt it will be in regular service on SYD-LHR by then, and I would expect QF1/2 to get them first.
