NZ's Trans-Tasman Plan

Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:48 am

I was interested a few months ago (around October, IIRC) to read that NZ had delayed its plan to put its and SJ's A320 fleet on the same operating certificate. I remembered reading last summer, before Fyfe took the helm, that the original intent was to have SJ crews operate all of NZ's A320 services, even those operated by aircraft in NZ livery. I understood this would apply to all A320 services: trans-Tasman and Pacific islands routes.

I was surprised to see there wasn't much reaction in the posts on point from the NZ employees.

I'm wondering what the status is of these plans -- is NZ still proceeding with the integration of the A320 fleets? And if so, won't that displace some NZ FAs and A320 pilots, who'd be replaced with ostensibly lower-paid SJ crews?
