Hi all,
Has anyone been on Philippine Airlines YVR-LAS? Do you recommend it?

Haven't flown that service, but it's hard to beat a flight to LAS on a 340.

Looks like AJO beated me at my own TR. Personally, I do recommend it esp. since you get the opportunity to fly on a widebody in this route. One thing to watch out though is that expect delays. Though I do have a somewhat of a bias for PAL, almost all the PR flights I have took were delayed but I usually had all the time in the world when I fly with them. I recommend checking out Skytrax's passenger reviews on the airline if you want to get a better picture.

We flew PAL YVR-LAS in December and would fly them again. Love the larger A340 vs say an A319 or B737. The flight to LAS was delayed probably 40min but the way back was on time.

Ample leg room 34G/H, service (with a  Smile ) and a hot sandwich etc. for a snack. On the trip back to YVR got upgraded row 14A/B and full meal service Big grin

The only drawback is you do not pre-clear Customs in YVR and if it matters to you, no alcoholic drinks were served. My other choice for that route would be Harmony - great service.

That's it, post #1 out of the way. Whew!

Can you book this flight without continuing to MNL . I know you cannot book the JL LAS-LAX w/o continuing to NRT.

I think you can becasue YVR is in Canada, and a third country, not in the US. QF LAX-JFK is a no go, as is JL LAS-LAX. However, I have done CX JFK-YVR-HKG and there were passengers at YVR while the rest of us continued on to HKG. PR should be able to secure rights from LAS to YVR without much hassle.
