What Is An Airbus A320SR?

Mon Feb 20, 2006 10:16 pm

On a rescent NW flight the emergency escape procedure card in the seat pocket said that the aircraft type was an Airbus A320SR. Does anyone know what is ment by 'SR'? Short Range maybe?

Thanks,

Peter

Series is my guess. Non-ICAO/IATA terminology.

A320SR A320-211 CFM56-5A1 engines Slide/Raft configuration used for overwater flights
A320V = Victor - A320-212 CFM56-5A3 engines

Can have just slides, or slide rafts installed on the exits.
