AF 747 To DEL

Tue Feb 21, 2006 3:16 am

Do they have PTV's in Y?
What are the chances of a change of aircraft (i.e. 777/A340)?

Thanks in advance

Starting March 27th, AF will fly a B772ER on the DAILY CDG-DEL-CDG and CDG-BOM-CDG.

3 B744 in the fleet have PTVs in Y : F-GITH/TI/TJ but they are not often used on that route.

Because the A343 & B744 have now only J/Y Class, while the B772 are still fitted with a First and a bigger Business class cabin (30 or 36J on A343, 40J on B744, 56J on a B772ER).
And there is a big demand for Premium Class on these routes.

Sorry for being a bit off-topic but I am interested on which routes these three 744s are flying mostly. Also: Is it planned to equip more AF 744s with PTV's in tempo?

Mostly to GIG for F-GITH/TJ (equipped with 40J)
F-GITI is still fitted with the old P/J/Y config and is often used to JNB.

Any chance of a B773ER on these routes to BOM or DEL?

Availability check on March 22nd brings up the 772ER on the CDG-BOM route.

Thanks.

AF always downgrades DEL from a 744 to a smaller plane for the (lighter) summer season, last few years it was a 343, it would be nice to see the AF772 in DEL too. This means that DEL will now see loads of 772 operators - Alitalia, Air France, Air India, JAL, Korean, Asiana, KLM. The more the merrier.
Isn't BOM already a AF 777? I saw one at the terminal the other day.
A300B2/B4/6R, A313, A319/320/321, A333, A343, A388, 737-2/3/4/7/8/9, 747-3/4, 772/2E/2L/3, E170/190, F70, CR2/7, 146-3,

Both BOM and DEL are scheduled Daily with a B772ER next summer season.

No. It would require a too expensive investment and a long period in maintenance for a small fleet, not used anymore on premium market.

AF B744 fleet will be reduced to 13 a/c only in 2008, this is nothing compared to + 50 B772ER/B773ER and 36 A332/A343
