Delta.com Making Progress!

Wed Feb 22, 2006 5:22 am

Now when booking a flight on a song route post-May 1st, it shows it as Delta 20xx, not Song. I didn't think they'd keep the 20xx flight designations, but whatever. However, it still shows an all Y config, even for flights as late as Jan! Any idea when they're gonna cdhange the seat maps?

I would make a bold assumption that there is no way they can convert the Song fleet overnight, let alone a few months. So I would think that until they know for sure the flight will have a modified plane they throw the old all-Y seatmap up there. The schedule could slow down or speed up because of lot of factors so I don't think they want to commit to a certain plane until they know. You also will have schedule changes between now and then so who knows if the flight you are looking at now will still be there in January.

Are you sure? Delta can work magic, lol. No, but in all seriousness, I heard that they were gonna start to convert the planes BEFORE May 1, so by that date, all planes on the current routes would be in 2 class config. However, on it would be treated as all Y until May 1.

Logistically...there is no way to convert the song aircraft to a 2 class configuration by May 1....it would also mean pulling the aircraft from service during the spring break period...which honestly...is not going to happen...Now i could be proven wrong....but don't see a magic wand laying around anywhere....best estimations are the fleet will enter the MOD in Sept....I can probably get better confirmation on this later this evening or tomorrow
