Crossair: Pilots Win & MD80 Replacement Orders

Sat Jun 03, 2000 8:29 am

Crossair pilots have won the salary raises they wanted  . It will be between 5 and 10 percent for co-pilots and up to 18 percent for Captains depending on experience!

It has pretyy much been confirmed that Crossair will order the A319/A320 and notthe B737NG! I feel kind of sad about that . I am so so bored with SR's Airbuses. This puts Crossair's plans of operating to Middle East and US East Coast with B737 700ER's in jeopardy Airbus launches an A319ER.
This seems likely in the near future!

Jeremiah, I heard a rumor that Crossair's ERJs could not take off from London City or Lugano, so instead of ordering more ERJs, they were going to be a launch customer in the Avro RJX program. Can you give me some more info on this?

I posted a topic on that a few weeks ago under "Bad News For Crossair" Thye will definetly not be the lauch customer of the Avro RJX anyway! Air Bhutan of Bhutan is the launch customer. It will permit them to fly to BKK and HKG direct. It replaces there Bae 146 200's!

About Crossair and the Avro RJX, no one really knows. Embraer might launch a "beefed up" version of the Erj 170!

Hope that helps!

Thanks. I didn't remember if the rumor was posted here or was in a magazine! Since you have probably flown on both the Avros and the ERJs, which do you prefer?

Yes I often flew on the Avros! I actually quite like them but I must admit they are aging. I could not have flown on an Erj170, 190 or 190 200 as they are not flying yet!
