Some Ryanair Passenger Figures

Fri Feb 24, 2006 10:30 pm

Ryanair has, since 1989, carried 70 million passengers to and from STN.

Ryanair now flies 88 routes from STN (of a total of 301 across 22 European countries in its portfolio).

Moreover, Ryanair will this month have carried:

115 million in the UK since 1985
30 million in Italy since 1998
16 million in Germany since 1999
12 million in Spain since 2002

Ryanair is Europes first truly successful pan European airline. For all that I moan about them, they are very successful, and these figures are proof to that.

Ok, Pearson - more facts?
What about:
a) how many complains did FR get online?
b) how many complains did FR get per mail?
c) how many denied boardings?
d) how many deleted flights by FR due to financial reasons?
e) how many money did they refund because of complains?

Those are really relevant considerations in terms of passenger figures.    Why don't you enlighten us, kind sir, with your obvious insight? We'll all have tea-and-cake and discuss it. Oh, you asked questions - you did not submit facts.

Although it kills me to say it, FR have very very very few complaints. They also have a very very high flight completion rate.

As for money refunds. I expect that figure to be £0.00 plus or minus 50p. Ive never heard of anyone complaining of denied boarding due to the airlines fault (i.e. overbooking)

It really would be interesting how the 115 mio people where happy with FR services, how they got "treated", how many flights have been cancelled.
Don't you think so?
Just informations about number of passengers - that's boring.

Sure. You do it and I'll see you in 20 years.  Smile For now, consider this: if they weren't happy, why are passenger numbers increasing?  Smile

People only fly with them coz theyre cheap and being typically British will put up with a lot. They are only so successful in my opinion because of this, if they were any more expensive no-one would bother, mind you I would fly with them even if the fare was 100% free without the taxes and "charges"

That argument can be rebutted in a sentence: Ryanair is an Irish airline and has 15 bases throughout Europe.

It boils down to value-for-money. If you pay very little (like I always do), then the value aspect will be enormous because you're paying little for little (added to the reliability, punctuality, convenience (from NQY, for example, for me), ease, hassle-free nature, etc.). If, however, you pay a lot, then the value will nose-dive - you'll be paying a lot for little (although those other elements, and others, will still be there). Unless you have no option, you'll be rather silly to pay a lot for a flight on any LCC - but many people still do because they book late or travel at peak times or during peak periods or whatever. Moreover, you're more accepting if you pay very little and so will be happier, whereas if you pay a lot then you're going to find more things unacceptable and are going to be less happy.

Some people are so funny !! It always amazes me how people talk about U2 and FR or others WN. OF COURSE people fly them because they're cheap and that's the aim of these airlines, mind you. Does anyone ever wonder why a Swatch (cheap swiss watch) lasts for a few years and a Rolex lasts for ages, even though both have the exact same utility ? Of course not and that's exactly what people have to understand about LCC's and legacy carriers !!!!!!!

You would need quantum mathematics to count them !

Quoting NumberTwelve (Reply 6):
b) how many complains did FR get per mail?

Probably container loads

Quoting NumberTwelve (Reply 6):
c) how many denied boardings?

They ususally do better than that : just cancel the flight for obscure reasons which everybody knows are false

Quoting NumberTwelve (Reply 6):
d) how many deleted flights by FR due to financial reasons?

Same as above

Quoting NumberTwelve (Reply 6):
e) how many money did they refund because of complains?

I know : ZERO ! Refund is a word these crooks do not know. What they know is how to leave people stranded at the dummy airports from which they operate. Their staff disappears in no time everytime this happens and it is up to you to try and reach your destination. For more information :

I think also the opposite would be an interesting figure, as the growth rate of passengers per year at BGY, since when FR started to operate from there.
Do you have any data at hand?

Quoting Trb10 (Reply 13):

Indeed. That's the same reason I use public transport (1,00 EUR one way) to go to downtown Milan, instead of having to pay 5,00 EUR/hr or more to park my car near the Cathedral. Big grin

I started flying with FR because of their fares and the opportunity to fly cheap in many European places I'd like to visit.
Of course, if I need to do Milan-Wien (for example) for business I'll choose a faster arrangement than BGY-BTS and all the bus links, but as a tourist I don't care if the airport is 1hr by train/bus/car from my destination!

Regards,
AP.

So you would prefer they were not cheap?

You would prefer expensive airfares?

ohhhhhh "value for money" i guess thats where i was going wrong.

although, seriously, i'd love to know the numbers out of DUB and compare them to last year.

Just to know, not because i think they are not doing great. unlike shannon where they are not going great.

I fly with them as they are the only airline that has a 100% customer satisfaction record where my family and i are concerned. Never late, never rude, never expensive, never a problem.
