I was in Tokyo when I heard about this accident. All I knew was, AF A340 overrun, it's a crash, there was a major fire, everyone out safe. I'd been waiting for an A340, given it's poor thrust-to-weight ratio, to tangle with windshear and be worse off, so no surprise that this accident finally happened, it was that everyone got out safely that surprised me. Someone in my group asked me how they all got out safely. "Quickly," I said. "Quickly."

I dont see any reason why not to?

When the incident was over, the state the plane was in, for someone looking at it the first time they would say 'How, HOW didn't anyone die, the plane is no more'

Excellent work Mr. Fautrel

You are my Idol

I think the flight attendants often are forgotten in air accidents. Well done Flight International!

I must say, it was a scary afternoon when the accident happened. I figured to myself the amount killed or injured, then that night on the news it said 0 killed. I applauded loudly as I knew that the crew remained professional and did their jobs as they trained to do.

Well done!

Hear, hear, whatever the reason for the crash it was a fine achievement by the flight crew to get everyone out safely, yeah that is what they are paid for but given the live pictures we saw of the crash I'm sure most of us feared the worst.

Hoepfully the general public will value their flight crew a bit more rather then seeing them as a glorified waiter or waitress.
