Today was the official first day of operation for the new tower at addison airport. does anyone know what will be done with the old one as far as maybe turning it into an observation platform or so on? thanks for any information

If Continental had a hub at DFW with nonstop flights I would always fly them, unfortunantely good things take time.

The demolition of the old ADS tower, while substantially delayed by the delayed opening of the new tower, is imminent. Wave "buh-bye" to it now, as it will be gone in a matter of weeks.

Funny thing, yesterday as I was flying out, the TWR controllers were asking aircraft for three-counts and such, as they were still getting accustomed to the new radios.

You could be the first, but I believe that the old tower will be giving way to a parking lot and, the contract for demolition having been let for several years now, the momentum might be a bit tough to stop.
