DFW West Operation On Thursday!

Fri Mar 10, 2006 6:49 pm

Today, DFW looked really strange, as all the aircraft were landing in the extremely rare western configuration. The usual runways 18/36LR 17/35LCR could not be used for landings, because the wind was 260 at 23 gusting to 29 Thursday afternoon, so all aircraft were landing on 31L and 31R. Since the normal configuration provides for 4 simultaneous landings, and in this configuration they could only land 2, it caused an average 1hour delay, which American ran with all day, even when the winds died down, to provide for connections (CAC). There weren't any cancelations due to this, only delays.
See, I knew American Eagle was first class all along!

I left DFW on March 9th around 3:00, we were in line on the east then moved us to the west side, shorter line. I was watching planes land on the west side.
