Callsign - Presidential 217?

Fri Mar 10, 2006 11:53 pm

Last night I was on UA 943 (B763 ORD-SFO) and had just taken off from ORD when I heard a call between "Presidential 217" and ATC.

Can someone tell me who that was?

Presidential is a biz-jet operater.... Flightaware shows PRD217 yesterday operated a flight MSN-SBP, so that was probably the flight you heard. BTW it was a G-IV.

Colgan is actually just "Colgan". Though sometimes we were called Calgon, Coegan, and oft mistook for Comair and Chatauqua.
IIRC the original Presidential Airways used the callsign "Washington Eagle".
Airplanes are cool. Aviation sucks.

Thought is may have been an escot fighter jet for Airforce One, but thanks Corey07850 for getting the correct answer!

Yes, there have been a few of them over the Pond recently too. Had me stumped until I saw this post from Corey.
