JetStar Int. Fleet?

Sun Mar 12, 2006 2:05 pm

Hello everyone at A.Net......  Smile

I was wondering when will the A330-200 from Qantas be transfered to JetStar International? I believe they will receive VH-EBA,EBB,EBC & EBD to commence operations later on in the middle of this year.....
Will be sad to see the Airbus' leave the QF fleet BUT at the same time will be nice to see the JetStar colors on a A330....

I think, although I'm not positive, that Jetstar International will not begin operations untill 2007. So its probably 18 months as a conservative estimate before any aircraft are in Jetstar International colours.

JQ international is due commence ops in July 2007. The latest word (although things change!) is that the A330 will not be operated nor maintained bt JQ, but rather by QF mainline who currently operate/maintain them, under some sort of charter/lease deal.

Although they WILL be painted in JQ colours under the directive that NO JQ service may be operated by an aircraft in QF colours and NO QF service may be operated by an aircraft in JQ colours. I wonder if there has ever been a breach of this policy?

They 787 when they arrive WILL be operated by JQ on their AOC, but maintance arrangements are still under wraps.

I believe Qantas will have an contracting company look after JQ maintenance issues just like the QF mainline HEAVY maintenance....

Strange thing though is that Qantas Engineers take care of JQ's A320 fleet...Correct me if I'm wrong...I have seen JQ A320 under going engine tests at the Sydney maintenance base....

That is an issue I am fuming about(maintenance outsourcing)....

JQ maintance is carried out by JQ Engineering at Williamtown (Newcastle) airport. Certain work is contracted out/done in hired facilities if it is more cost efficient. That is probabley what you saw.

QF also do transit maintance for JQ at certin airports, they do it themselves at others.
