US / America West - New Aircraft Cabins?

Sun Mar 12, 2006 10:46 pm

A while back I recall reading all future America West Airbus deliveries were to have an updated all-leather interior. I've never actually seen one - do they have any of these birds flying? I'm wondering if the new merged US Airways plans to do any cabin upgrading in order to get a common feel across the fleet. I've never flown US Airways but the pics I've seen from the database do not look as nice as other carriers.

A few weeks ago, I flew one of their 733's on a segment to CLT. The interior, while cloth (I seem to prefer these over leather) and style-dated, were in fine condition.

Quite a few of their Airbuses have the leather interior. Actually very comfortable in my opinion. Also, all the new aircraft the airline is taking delivery of have the leather already installed.

I'm not sure if the switch over was slowed or postponed due to other pressing issues now.
