Air Force One In ROC Today

Wed Mar 15, 2006 3:53 am

I just cruised down to the airport to check it out. A USA 3000 A320 seems to have been chartered for the trip as well. Logistical support handled by a C-17. Good looking plane.

Mark,

Just got time to reply now, very busy day today!

I logged in to WHEC's live coverage from here in DC after the plane had landed, but caught the president's visit with J-Mac on the apron. Plane landed on 22 this time, had landed on 4 last time. I don't know if there was TV footage of the takeoff--cameras got shooed this time before the plane taxiied out. Couldn't find web video of the takeoff. Weather doesn't seem to have been much better this time than last.

I don't know if any of our guys got there to take photos today; Scott got a couple of really good ones back in May.

Visiting some autistic kid that had a sick game of basketball a couple weeks ago.

I think the main reason he was there was to promote some medicare plan. The austic kid just greeted him at the airport when he arrived.
