Canadian 737's

Tue Jun 06, 2000 12:57 pm

A question about Canadian's 737's that are being merged into Air Canada. First off, how many are there (Bill Harm's site is down tonight, so I can't look there); secondly, how many 737's have had the vertical stabilizer repainted with the AC maple leaf, and how many still have the large proud bird covering the fuselage?

Hopefully, AC183 or someone will know.

P.S. Air Canada's YYZ-MSY flight switched to a Canadian 737 (AC tail) today, if any of the MSY faithful are watching.

Hi.

They have 44 737-200s. Not sure how many are painted in the transitional livery, but I'd guess it'd be around 10-15 by now. No clue how many still have the "Proud Wings" theme.

There are 44 total, but I believe 3 of these are on sublease to Canadian North. I understand there are 6 aircraft in Proud Wings, and 25 in AC transitional livery, and counting with more being painted, the remainder being in the ugly old 1987 scheme.

According to the website, there are 44. Some have been repainted but I
don't see these airplanes surviving in the New Air Canada. Air Canada
has a newer fleet, with only a few DC9-30's remaining. Those 737-200's
are getting old.

I have seen some in transitional livery at New York/LaGuardia, where
Canadian operates services to Toronto. All of those flights operate w/
the 737-200.

AC183, thanks for the help!!!

Yesterday (the first day of CP 737's at MSY), we were visited by C-GCPW 20959/395 (transitional livery), and today we got C-GJPW 21713/598 (proud bird livery).
