Finally, some movement on the Terminal 3 issue in Manila. It has been 97% complete for about 4 years. Here are some links;

Yes, I read about this yesterday, and it's great!!!. I've been waiting for this a long time now. But I didn't really get it all, do they mean that cebu pacific will operate this HKG-flight from T3 every day ever after? Will there only be this one single flight until other airlines start moving in there?

From the links, it seems as if this would only be an initial proving operation to iron out kinks in the systems, if any, as they had been idle for quite a while. It is likely that Cebu Pacific would use the terminal when it is established that "all systems go." And according to Mr. Max Soliven in his column in the March 18-21 issue of the "LA Asian Journal" there is also the matter of the PP3 billion which the Supreme Court ruled with finality, that the Philippine Government should pay PIATCO before it could take over the operation of the new Terminal 3, with a probable opening in early April. Maybe these are the two things the other airlines are waiting for before transferring there.

As for the informal tenants, I haven't heard from the birds yet!  Big grin Any new pictures?

I Belive "not sure" only Philipine carriers or Airlines with no intrest in ever flying to Euroland can operate there....from what i'v read under International law is a carrier such as Continental, Northwest,or JAL were observed at the MNL T3 Fraport could somehow bill them in FRA or any other EuroAirport...because of no valid lease to the property or something like that...mabe someone else can fill in the blanks....

Do you guys personally think that T3 will be operating all international flights by december this year?
I mean if I would fly KL or LH into MNL in december, will it be T1 or T3?

bye  Smile

This has been an on and off thing for so long it's hard to tell. Since December is still some time away, it is best to await further developments before you make any plans. Anyway, I don't think T3 is enough reason for embarking on such a long trip, although there is a fair chance you might be using it.

Oh, but we were planning to go there anyway, whether T3 is opened or not, I just think that it would be great to use the T3 my first time in the philippines instead of the chaotic (as I understood it as) T1... But thanks for the imformation anyway.
Another question that i've thought alot about is if the people who's picking up others, will be allowed inside the arrival-area in T3, or if it will be just like T1, with no other than the pax being allowed there? Beacuse I dion't know if the reason is security or that it would be to full in there.

In the pictures I've seen, I couldn't see anything that would stop those people from entering...

I'm not familiar with the layout of T3, but for security reasons, I think the policy of limiting welcomers outside the arrival areas will remain in force.

In this last link, the article says;

NAIA-3 boasts of the most modern airport facilities in a fully air-conditioned terminal. With the new terminal, space would be allotted for those seeing off or meeting departing and arriving passengers in an air-conditioned. viewing deck

It seems like this NAIA T3 story is a never-ending one. I found this article yesterday:

http://news.airwise.com/story/view/1143459907.html

So i wouldn't get my hopes up for transiting through T3 in December CityAirline. But don't worry, T1 is not really as bad as people credit it, it still serves its purpose.
