TAP Air Portugal EWR - LIS Route

Wed Mar 22, 2006 4:48 am

Hi
Does anyone know if TAP has switched equipment from an A340 to an A330 on the EWR to LIS route? A reservation agent told me that the plane is an "A323"!!

I think the flight is operated by a 313, i.e. an Airbus A310-300

I believe it's A310 in Winter. A340 in the Summer.

Actually I looked at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey web site http://www.panynj.gov/aviation/oagframe.HTM and it says A330-200. I know they have 1 and supposed to get two more over the next coouple of months.

I check Tap website and they will use the A332 on the route EWR-LIS on some days of june. I don't know if it's an upgrade, but the EWR-OPO (TP114) shows on june 29 the A310 while the A332 will be used on the flight EWR-LIS (same day).

On june 30 i saw 2 flights EWR-LIS (one with A310 -TP106- and other with A332 TP104). Seems that TP will run 10 EWR-LIS and 3x EWR-OPO.

Any one has better info on this issue ?

Does the A340 have better cargo capacity than the A332? I would guess so and if that is indeed the case, it makes sense for them to operate the slightly smaller A332 to EWR instead of GRU/GIG where the cargo demands are much higher. A very nice surprise indeed for those of us who may be flying to LIS this Summer.
