There's quite a few cities, in fact, that are begging for this AA service. IND-MIA, I'm sure would have promising potential. Another route that comes to mind is PVD-MIA. Airport officials there, are constantly trying to convince AA to add this service. They have even done an independent marketing survey, which indicates there is indeed a high demand for this particular route out of PVD. With all the new Boeings AA is receiving, you'd think they'd add more feed to their MIA hub, and build upon it? WE shall see what the future holds. Will this be deemed the decade of consolidation in the airline industry?

Aircraft?

MD-80 or 738 I am sure. There would be no need for anything larger than that. What kind of service does ATA provide to MIA out of IND? I know they fly into FLL...

ATA offers 727, 757, and L-1011 service to FLL!!! They don't fly into MIA (for the same reason they chose MDW over ORD)!!!

Yes, it may indeed sellout. I am sure it would in many other similar markets like MKE, OMA, CMH, MCI, etc...The problem is, Florida markets are generally very low-yield, thus making a larger aircraft unnecessary for a medium sized market like IND. The best bet for IND will be Midwest Express service. I have heard a lot of "water-cooler" talk about them making IND a focus city, that could mean offering flights to and from South Florida. But they certainly don't fly the cool iron that American does.

American has been very stagnant on growth in Miami for at least 4 years now also American should consider non stop service from Miami to Las Vegas,Phoenix,San Jose California,St Louis,Birmingham,Pittsburgh, and Charlotte just to name a few
