I'm currently in flight school, and my instructor and I were talking the other day about how when accepted to a flight school you have to do a background check for the TSA
. Very understandable with what we are being faced with in the global environment today...What I am interested in is, who does the background check? It almost kind of freaks me out, I put my social security number out there for just anyone to take? Do the flight schools, and even airlines handle the background checks themselves, or just pass them on to a third party agencey that specializes in performing a background check? Also, how much does an employer know about me? Does the check return them with a bunch of crazy data like who my parents are, where I graduated high school and so on? There's a lot of information out there in today's world, and I would like a little piece of mind knowing who is handling it around. Don't know about anyone else, but I've signed a few things for background checks in the past...but have never recieved any word there after. Thanks in advance!
