I saw this documentary on the Discovery channel when I was in Atlanta. I sluffed a few meetings to watch it, and was not disappointed. It is extremely well done and captures the humbling spirit of 9/11 very well.

Just my opinions:

The beginning was good, with the facing fear but finding courage. I liked that.

The map was all off. The scale isn't even close, and Herndon, VA is NW of DC, not SW.

The timeline pop-ups were good, although the Pentagon is in Arlington, VA, not DC.

The music in the background should be replaced with something else. It was totally inappropriate.

It's a good start, but it needs a little work.

Is it a documentary on the making of United 93 (which is coming out in theaters) or is it another movie about United flight 93?

It is a regular $8 movie in theaters....and not on the History or Discovery Channel.

What are the logistics in making a movie like this? Do they need permission from United? Families of passengers and crew? The FAA?
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

I'll say it was at least on apple's web trailers last night. As I watched it then when looking for another trailer.

It now appears that "United 93" will open the Tribeca Film Festival this year:

ABC News

ABC News:
"Nearly five years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, "United 93," about one of the doomed flights that day, will make its world premiere on opening night at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The festival, which was created to help lower Manhattan recover economically from the attacks, begins April 25 and runs through May 7."

Unbelievable trailer...I can't wait to see it.

Watching the trailer left me with clear memories of that morning, and lots of anger as well.

I saw in the trailer they had the standard 757 bins, does anyone know if any UA 757s had the classic bin then or if they had already been upgraded to the more rounded shape?

MSNBC has an article about about the movie and is the public ready...

By Sean Smith and Jac Chebatoris
Newsweek
April 10, 2006 issue - If movie trailers are supposed to cause a reaction, the preview for "United 93" more than succeeds. Featuring no voice-over and no famous actors, it begins with images of a beautiful morning and passengers boarding an airplane. It takes you a minute to realize what the movie's even about. That's when a plane hits the World Trade Center. The effect is visceral. When the trailer played before "Inside Man" last week at the famed Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, audience members began calling out, "Too soon!" In New York City, where 9/11 remains an open wound, the response was even more dramatic. The AMC Loews theater on Manhattan's Upper West Side took the rare step of pulling the trailer from its screens after several complaints. "One lady was crying," says one of the theater's managers, Kevin Adjodha. "She was saying we shouldn't have [played the trailer]. That this was wrong ...

This isn't the same thing. This is a full length movie not related to the documentary. I dunno what to think of it yet. Too soon, for sure, though.
