New Service From Kenmore Express

Sat Apr 01, 2006 1:43 pm

Hello everyone! This is for the locals to the Seattle area. In case you missed it, King5 had a little snipit that Kenmore Express will begin flying between BFI and Oak Harbor around May.

That would make Cessna Caravan flights between BFI and Port Angeles, Friday Harbor and Oak Harbor.

Will be nice to see ODW and Whidbey Island get service again.

Wasn't there a twin-prop carrier that flew between SEA and ODW back in the late 1980's early 1990's?

Now if they would just add Arlington, I'd be a happy guy. spin

Yes, it was Harbor Airlines, based at ODW. Originally Oak Harbor Airlines, then harbor Airlines, then Harbor Air before folding up in mid '90s.They relocated hq to Gig Harbor before their demise.
They operated Navajos at the end, but previously had BN Islanders, as did San Juan Airlines (the original) at the time.
Harbor also operated EMB Bandeirantes for a short time.
Too bad new ownership sunk them.

I remember both San Juan (the original) and Harbor Airlines had code-share agreements with AS.
