Delta's June Schedule

Sat Apr 01, 2006 10:19 pm

I guess it's out now....

From MSY, DL is showing the following as of 6/1/06:

ATL: 12x (7x M88, 1x 738, 3x CRJ, 1x ERJ) *gain of 3 extra flights*
CVG: 2x (ERJ)
DCA: 1x (CRJ)
MCO: 2x (1x ER3, 1x ERJ)
SLC: 1x (CR7)

MSY-LGA looks like is has been cancelled already. Wow.

Some interesting changes at RDU...

ATL 11 daily flights (3x 757, 6x M88, 1x CR7, 1x CRJ)
CVG 5 daily flights (1x 738, 1x CR7, 3x CRJ)
SLC 1 daily flight (1x 738)
LAX 6 weekly flights (1x 738)
LGA 4 daily flights (1x CR7, 3x CRJ)
JFK 2 daily flights (2x CRJ)
FLL 3 daily flights (2x E45, 1x E35)
TPA 1 daily flight (E35)
MCO 4 daily flights (2x E45, 2x E35)

Either RDU lost some flights to LGA, JFK, FLL, TPA, and MCO.. or the schedule is still being rolled out... that 1x TPA flight really seems a bit bizarre..

Intersting to note that all song a/cs are now being identified as 752 on the Downloadable DL flight schedules. Also, flights that use the 763ER are being identified as using a 762!!!

skeds are still being uploaded, one minute there is a 6am JFK-ATL on 5/27, the next it's gone, and then back again. Saturday mornings are always funky on Delta.com.

Give it a few days.

One change in June that I noticed... there is a second BOS-LAX nonstop, this one a 737-800 instead of a 757.

ATL goes from 4 732's, 1 MD-80, 1CRJ, and 1 CRJ-70 to 4 MD-80's, 1 738, 1 CRJ, and 1 CRJ-70. Good increase in seats.
CVG gains a mainline flight and goes to 1 732, 4 CRJ's and a CJR-70
SLC stays the same at 2 CRJ-70's.

I don't understand how they're trying to compete with transcon traffic with AA and UA at this point. By turining all those routes over to song, DL fucked up big time...and now they're trying to get it back with 738s???

ATL-GPT 8 daily flights (7x CRJ, 1x MD88)
MCO-GPT 1 daily flight (1x CRJ)

Although I think this route will be around for the summer months. Prior to Katrina, MCO-GPT had only been operating for 8 months. I'm assuming there was some sort of contract between DL and GPT saying the route would be ran for at least a year. I say this because two areas (MOB,JAN) have lost service to MCO on DL. Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

JAX-ATL 9 daily flights (1x MD88, 6x 757, 2x 763)
JAX-CVG 4 daily flights (1x CR7, 3x CRJ)
JAX-LGA 4 daily flights (CRJ)
JAX-B0S 2 daily flights (CR7)

CLE just lost 1 of 2 daily CLE-SLCs. Rumor has it, though, that it will become a 737-800 this summer.

Additionally we're picking up 2 daily CLE-JFK CRJ round trips.

Interestingly, CMH's changes don't show up in the schedule until 6/8. The schedule for 6/1 shows what it had before.

For example, ATL's showing as 1 738, 4 M88s, 1 CRJ, 1 ERJ until 6/8 & then it goes to the one I posted above. CVG also still gets a 732 until 6/8.

It looks like CMH looses 5 flights total in the June schedule, going down to 35 daily departures (one frequency goes away to JFK, MCO, RSW, and ATL, while FLL gets discontinued altogether). The only bright spot is that the 732 to CVG gets upgraded to a 738, due to the fact that it is a through flight to LAX. Apparently the CMH-LAX nonstop has been going gangbuster, not so much due to loads or yields,Îv´Ô the space being taken up in the cargo hold.

Quick questions for a DL employee:

1) How are the loads on the RDU-SLC flights?

2) How do the initial loads look on the new RDU-LAX service starting in June?

RSW-CMH goes to CRJ? What is Delta doing? CHQ has a huge pilot base in CMH now Comair or ASA or who ever is doing all the flights will be overnighting crews in a place where it is not needed. What a bummer.

DL will survice. NW will be the first to go after looking at the TA that the MEC agreed to. DL is going to be a slimmed down domestic version, but they are going to be fat on the international side of the house. Song will be the Transcon element under the DL flag. The widebodies will end up being the heart of the Intl expansion, and there will be more point to point v. hub service.

JFK-LAX in May is now marketted as Delta aircraft. Also, I was looking at ATL-LAX and instead of a First Class on their B757s, they market the segment as Business Class. What is the difference? I thought that the B757s only have First class seats in them.

Some of the flights between LAX and ATL may be on business elite equipped 767-300s... so DL calls the FC cabin business. The seating is better than standard domestic FC, but the service is still the same as it would be on a domestic trans-con... other than the seat, it is the same service.

Rather than attacking your dissenter's country of origin you would be better served to explain why you believe his counter argument is an invalid one. I noticed that the DL flight from BDL-SLC is now showing up as business, not first. I found that odd, because it's a 738 which won't continue to international. I believe it does a turnaround, could be wrong on that though.

Some interesting changes at RDU...

ATL 11 daily flights (3x 757, 6x M88, 1x CR7, 1x CRJ)
CVG 5 daily flights (1x 738, 1x CR7, 3x CRJ)
SLC 1 daily flight (1x 738)
LAX 6 weekly flights (1x 738)
LGA 4 daily flights (1x CR7, 3x CRJ)
JFK 2 daily flights (2x CRJ)
FLL 3 daily flights (2x E45, 1x E35)
TPA 1 daily flight (E35)
MCO 4 daily flights (2x E45, 2x E35)

Either RDU lost some flights to LGA, JFK, FLL, TPA, and MCO.. or the schedule is still being rolled out... that 1x TPA flight really seems a bit bizarre..

RDU Update...

ATL 11x daily (3 757, 6x M88, 1x CR7, 1x CRJ)
CVG 5x daily (1 738, 1 CR7, 3x CRJ)
BOS 4x daily (3x CRJ, 1x E35)
FLL 3x daily (2x E45, 1x E35)
MCO 4x daily (2x E45, 2x E35)
TPA 1x daily (1x E45) ???? Wow
LGA 4x daily (3x CRJ, 1x CR7)
JFK 2x daily (2x CRJ)
SLC 1x daily (1x 738)
LAX 6x weekly (1x 738)
Aiming High and going far..

What happened to DL at ALB? When they retooled the ATL hub in Feb'05 following the closer of the DFW hub, ALB-ATL rose to six daily nonstop flights (all mainline; flown mostly with 732s). I just looked at the June 2006 schedule, and there will be five daily nonstops - four of which are with CRJ/CR7 aircraft and one with 732. That's a HUGE capacity decrease over the course of 16 months. Why is DL seemingly having a difficult time at ALB?

Don't forget about the CMH-LAX route coming up here very shortly.

It already started.
