Is BOM-HNL The Longest All Nw Metal Route?

Tue Apr 04, 2006 4:49 am

Is BOM-HNL the longest route served by all NW metal? Can it still be done with all DC10s?

I'm quite sure that one cannot fly HNL-BOM without a connecting flight somewhere. I'm not sure what you mean by the question of longest flight? I think DTW-KIX is their longest(13:45hrs/6607 miles)

I think you need to re-phrase your question. It doesn't make a lot of sense. The Northwest route netword stretches all the from BOM to SIN and BKK. No commercial aircraft built, could fly that far going westbound!

I think flight NW41 is "just" BOM-AMS-MSP, not continuing to HNL on the same flight number.

No, the longest route on NW would be BOM-AMS-BOS-MSP-SEA-HNL-NRT-SIN, all on Northwest metal. Many different flight numbers but all on NW metal. Still think you ought to re-phrase your question!!

You could make a lot of combinations, depending on airline. I think that for CO, it would probably be DEL-EWR-HKG for furthest distance covered on one airline. Although that would be one hell of a boring trip. I could only play solitaire on the PTVs so many times before I'd want to shoot myself.

How about TYO to LAX on AI, via DEL, BOM and FRA....all on AI 747's...  smile

How is that difficult to understand? The longest route you can fly on NW metal only?

That would be BKK-BOM via NRT MSP and AMS and if you did that you're pretty much crazy in my book.
