A380 Vs 744 Vs Spruce Goose

Thu Apr 06, 2006 9:44 am

I was about to start a topic here on A.net because I was wondering how the Spruce Goose of Howard Hughes fame would stack up compared to the A380. Of course, since this is the internet, I figured someone else had the idea first.

Check this out from wikipedia:

Can you imagine a spruce 380? Or really, birch.

What's neat about this pic is seeing that the H-4 had a larger wingspan than either the 380 or even the AN-225. It's tail is taller than the A380. And it is just 4 meters shorter than the 747. Man that was some plane. Shame it only ever flew 1 mile.
