Trivia: Which Airport Sees Every...

Fri Jun 09, 2000 9:37 am

1) Which airport(s) see(s) every DL subsidiary?

2) Which airport(s) see(s) every US subsidiary?

3) They're 6 airports that see all Big 10 US airlines, which are they?

good luck

None for #1. Seeing how Skywest and Shuttle don't serve any of the same airports I must not even think about the others.

OK, here's my guesses for #3:
SEA
LAX
SFO
SAN
LAS
PHX
SNA

Since the Big 10 include America West, Southwest, and Alaska, I would venture that most of the airports would be in the West. I almost said PDX, but I don't think US Airways or Southwest serves PDX. TWA also has a fairly limited list of cities, but I'm pretty sure they serve all of the above.

Let me clarify, when I stated, "subsidiaries", I didn't mean the independent contractors who fly the planes, just the brands. Play on.

Yeah, by my count I have 7 airports. I still don't think US Airways flies to PDX. Not sure though.

Hold the plane... there ARE 7. All 10 fly to San Diego and Orange County. Plus Phoenix, Vegas, LA, San Fran, and Seattle

For question One, if you count only owned subsidiaries of Delta Air Lines, then the only airport to see all subsidiaries is New York's La Guardia.

You have Comair, Atlantic Southeast, Delta, Delta Shuttle and Delta Express. They're all there.

As for all connection carriers, there is no airport which both BusinessExpress operate and also SkyWest, for example. But New York La Guardia is the only airport I can think of about Delta.

Ok, you guys are right, and I am wrong. They're 7 airports that see all top 10 US airlines. As a few of you have stated, they are:
Las Vegas (LAS)
San Francisco (SFO)
Seattle Tacoma (SEA)
Las Angelos (LAX)
San Diego (SAN)
John Wayne (SNA)
Phoenix (PHX)

As for the other questions, I meant brands.

For US Airways its BOS and LGA
US Airways Express, Us Airways, Metrojet, and US Airways Shuttle

For Delta its BOS
Delta Connection, Delta, Delta Express, and Delta Shuttle

DL Express does not serve LGA, only JFK, ISP, and EWR.
727, L1011, MD80, A300, 777-200, 737-300, 737-700, 747-400, 757-200, 737-800, A320. E190, E135, 767-200, CRJ9

1.) Boston sees every Delta subsiduary (Mainline, Express, Shuttle, Connection).
2.) BOS, LGA, and IAD see every US Airways subsiduary (Mainline, Shuttle, Express, MetroJet)
3.) SNA, LAS, PHX, LAX, SEA, SFO, SAN

And Flyf15, TWAneedsHELP I think mean Delta Connection carriers, as most people tend to just put all the connection carriers (ie Comair, ASA, Trans States, Business Express, SkyWest, AC Jet for Delta) into one category of subsiduary.
