SLCUT2777 pretty much covered it...here's my little contribution
I've seen lines at the UA
check in desks that made me sprint up to the parking garage to check if UA
sent a 777 (seriously). That line easily had 200+ people...so make sure you allot time for lengthy check in. Security at peak times isn't a breeze either (although not as bad as SEA
odds and ends -
Sales tax is 6.25% - including food (not knowing what TX
tax was almost made me miss my IAH
Tombstone pizza vending machine inbetween check-in and baggage claim at Terminal 2, if you get something make sure to nuke it for more than 90 seconds
The elevators in the parking garage are REALLY slow, so if you're in a mad rush, take the stairs.
UTA buses leave from P1 (first floor) in the parking garage fairly regularly (route 50 goes to downtown SLC
) $1.50, muuuuuuuuuuuch cheaper than a taxi.

prepare for a mob at the baggage claim carousels since terminal space is VERY limited
there's a shorter and simpler way to describe it...MOO!
